The first softball summit for 2019 was completed!

12 Tutors / 31 Participants across 5 Regions attended the Softball Summit.  A great opportunity for coaches to ask questions and share knowledge across 10 sessions.

Special Thanks to everyone who attended especially those who made the trip from Gisborne and Whangarei.

Due to the positive feedback from the day's participants, we will seek to hold a further session toward the beginning of the season at another venue.

A new format of Softball was introduced this week in the Auckland Girls Central Division 2 competition. With rules suited to allowing everyone to have a hit and fielders being a lot more active, short games of 30 minutes, easy self-umpiring, this proves to be a fun format for developing players. On hand for the first night of the competition was Stanley Doney (Softball NZ Development Manager) to explain the rules to the teams to ensure maximum success and enjoyment. This format is also being offered in Division 2 at the upcoming College Sport Auckland Senior One Day tournament on Thursday 5th March at Rosedale Park, Albany.
